Job Profile

Be physically and mentally capable to perform the duties in the Canadian Forces flight operations environment. Applicants need to be highly reliable, have excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, and work well under pressure.

Must be able to obtain PSPS Level II security clearance, requires 10 years of Canadian residency

The Wing Operations Centre Duty Officer is responsible to the Commanding Officer of Operations Support Squadron, 17 Wing for the efficient operation of the Wing Operations Centre.

This assignment has many responsibilities including, but not limited to the coordination of aircraft servicing, flight feeding, weather briefs, ensure the on-time departure and arrivals of Wing and transient aircraft including support to the Deployed Operating base of NORAD assets. The Duty Officer acts as the emergency coordinator for all 17 Wing activities after normal working hours and implement Wing emergency callout procedures when directed.

Applicants must have experience and knowledge of flight operations including flight safety program principles. This position employs a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
