Security Guard – Construction Project – Port au Port Area

THE ROLE: 

Commissionaires NL provides Security Services for Construction Projects and we are hiring for the Port au Port Area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Ensure that all persons entering and exiting the Site are identified and authorized to be onsite in accordance with the Policies and Procedures.
• Take all reasonable steps to ensure all non-authorized persons do not gain access to the Site, in the event non-authorized persons gain access to Site monitor and report all activities of such persons as directed by the Client.
• Conduct or participate in investigations as required.
• Perform onsite patrols.
• Write comprehensive reports and maintain proper records.
• Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

WHO WE’RE SEEKING

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Be professional, reliable and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Be able to communicate effectively
• Be able to obtain a Clear Police Conduct 
• Driver’s license 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

The selected candidate will be professional and detail driven individual with a strong work ethic and “can do” attitude. Both physical and mental fitness is required. This often involves working in all types of environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night.

  • React calmly, quickly, and appropriately in any crisis 
  • Concentrate and remain alert
  • Communicate observed characteristics/behaviours 
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and sound judgement
• Superior attention to detail with very good verbal communication skills
• Physical fitness with ability to: 
  • Navigate uneven terrain during foot patrols (in all weather conditions)
• Excellent customer service skills
