Commissionaires NB&PEI Division is looking to hire a mature and responsible team member in the Fredericton area to work at a Provincial government building on a full-time basis.
The Role
The Security Officer is responsible to enforce established rules and regulations to ensure the protection of people, property and information at a provincial government building. Primary duties are access control and assisting staff and visitors at the facility.
We are seeking candidates with:
- The ability to communicate in both English and French is a essential
- Approachable with good deportment; experience working with the government departmental representatives
- Physical fitness to perform interior rounds (including stairs) - may also require sitting and standing for extended periods of time
- Customer service experience and ability to articulate self in a professional manner
- A positive, proactive, problem solving approach to tasks
- Technological competencies: must be proficient in computer skills (Internet, MS Word, Excel/spreadsheet), and ability to use related office equipment
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Maintain high levels of confidentiality
- Diffuse potentially violent conflict situations with communication skills
- Respond to emergency situations
