Commissionaires Manitoba is looking for versatile and highly motivated personnel to augment our team of By-Law officers in the Brandon and surrounding areas. Commissionaires Manitoba offers competitive wages, flexible hours, and uniforms. As a successful candidate you must be physically and mentally capable to perform Bylaw duties, be highly reliable, have excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills, and work well under pressure.

You will need to possess or obtain current Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry checks, a valid Manitoba Security License is an asset, possess or able to obtain First Aid & CPR /AED qualification. 

Candidates will attend Bylaw training and possibly other training (First Aid & CPR /AED, Mb Security Guard etc). In the current provincial restrictions this training may be virtual, thus the candidate must have reliable access to computer and internet.

 Qualifications Required

Possession of MB security guard license considered an asset. Security guard training may be required in future.  

 Have or obtain a clear Child Abuse Registry check and CPIC.

Have or obtain a PWGSC Reliability security clearance.

Experience or credentials in bylaw enforcement or formal investigatory training and and/or experience as a trained evaluator is considered an asset.

 Valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract.

Specific Job Skills Required

 Conduct By-Law investigations. utilizing authorized forms, checklists and job aids necessary to administer and execute bylaw enforcement tasks.

 Proven written and verbal communication skills to write detailed reports, and provide accurate verbal reports for By-Law services rendered to clients.

Be able to read and comprehend contracts and agreements to provide By-Law services.

Liaise and coordinate with other By-Law Officers, law enforcement and community leaders as necessary.

Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

 Demonstrated leadership ability with a high degree of initiative; a skilled team player with the ability to motivate and create enthusiasm in others.

 Able to function effectively under stress with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to set priorities.

Effective human and public relations skills especially in the conduct of Bylaw investigations.

Command of Microsoft Office software, and standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, digital cameras etc
