Rebecca Landry Named One of Atlantic Canada’s 25 Most Powerful Women for 2026

Commissionaires Nova Scotia (CNS) is proud to celebrate Rebecca Landry, Chief Operating Officer, on her selection as one of Atlantic Business Magazine’s 25 Most Powerful Women in Business 2026. This prestigious recognition highlights exceptional women leaders across the region whose influence extends far beyond their job titles: leaders who are shaping industries, driving innovation, and uplifting the next generation of changemakers.

The honour places Rebecca among a distinguished group of award recipients chosen through a competitive process led by a panel of past Powerful Women alumni. The 2026 program received 249 nominations, each evaluated on leadership excellence, industry impact, community influence, national or international reach, and active commitment to championing other women.

Rebecca’s recognition reflects her exceptional leadership in the defence and security sector, where she oversees more than 1,200 employees across the Nova Scotia Division. Her work has been publicly acknowledged for breaking barriers in defence and security: mentoring women, and proving leadership thrives when people come first.

Throughout her career, Rebecca has consistently demonstrated a leadership philosophy grounded in service, mentorship, and integrity: values deeply aligned with the organization’s social mandate. Under her operational leadership, CNS continues to grow as Nova Scotia’s only not-for-profit security provider and a trusted security partner to public and private organizations.

Rebecca is widely respected within the organization for her ability to guide teams through complex challenges with clarity, compassion, and commitment to excellence. Her work has strengthened CNS’s operational capabilities, enhanced organizational resilience, and supported a culture where employees feel valued and empowered.

One of the selection criteria for the Most Powerful Women award is a nominee’s ability to “make space for other women to step into their own power.” Rebecca embodies this principle in her everyday leadership. She is an active mentor, supporting the growth of women pursuing careers in security and operations. Her influence helps widen the pathway for women in fields historically underrepresented by female leaders, most notably defence and security.

Rebecca’s commitment to mentorship extends beyond CNS. Her guidance and advocacy contribute to a broader cultural shift toward inclusive leadership across Nova Scotia’s business community.

This year’s award ceremony, hosted in Halifax, showcased the achievements of women across sectors who are driving positive change within Atlantic Canada’s economic landscape. The program celebrates founders, executives, directors, and managers who use their influence to uplift communities and build a stronger future for the region.

Rebecca’s inclusion in the 2026 cohort reinforces the significant impact she continues to make within CNS, the security industry, and the wider business community. It is a testament to her dedication, expertise, and her ability to lead with both strength and heart.

On behalf of the entire Commissionaires Nova Scotia team, we extend our warmest congratulations to Rebecca Landry on this well‑deserved recognition! Her leadership inspires not only our organization but also future generations of women leaders across Atlantic Canada.
