We’re proud to introduce Amanda Young, one of our dedicated Commissionaires stationed at the Accommodations building at CDSB Gagetown. Since joining us in December 2023, Amanda has made a lasting impression with her exceptional service!
What drew Amanda to join Commissionaires?
Amanda stated that she was looking for a job that offered security and stability. She was drawn to the regular Monday-to-Friday schedule with weekends off, which continues to allow her to enjoy her hobbies on the farm after work. The security aspect of the role was also a major appeal for Amanda, as it provides her with a sense of reassurance and purpose.
What does a typical day involve at the Accommodations building?
As a Front Desk Clerk at the Accommodations building, Amanda’s responsibilities include conducting audits, organizing keys, and greeting customers. She takes pride in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility and providing excellent customer service to all who enter.
What are Amanda’s hobbies outside of work?
Growing up in Jemseg, NB, Amanda was surrounded by farm life. Today, she owns, and boards horses and has cattle and helps her parents who grow a variety of fruits and vegetables.
“My family owns and operates Raymond Young’s Fruit & Vegetable Stand in Jemseg, which has been operating since 2002.”
While Amanda’s role at Commissionaires keeps her busy, she continues to contribute to the farm, which is more of a passion than a chore for her. In addition to her farm duties, Amanda enjoys being outside, participating in horse shows and living life to the fullest with her friends and family.
She looks forward to participating in the Queens County Fair in Gagetown every September. “It’s a fantastic experience to enter our cows and horses and be part of the fair community.”
Join us in extending our heartfelt thanks to Amanda for her outstanding service as a Commissionaire at CDSB Gagetown. We’re excited to have her on our team and look forward to many more years together!
