Meet Spencer Allen and Todd Jackson. Anyone who drives up to the North Atlantic Fisheries Center (NAFC) will definitely know their faces but you are probably not aware of their meaningful addition to the work force at DFO.
Spencer and Todd are both entering just their second year of employment as Commissionaires and are featured in a national campaign: Beyond Service. Commissionaires is a not-for-profit organization who provide security services, identification services and non-core police services along with considerable number of comprehensive training programs. They train individuals of different ages with a variety of backgrounds; however, most of their team is composed of ex-military and RCMP. The latest campaign profiles veterans across the country who now devote their time to Commissionaire service.
Spencer and Todd are a light in the foggy corner of St. John’s where they provide security service here at NAFC. Their unparalleled kindness and willingness to make our colleagues start their day with a smile is noticed by all. These men promote wellness here everyday from start to finish simply by being who they are.
While they enjoy their interaction with people from various sectors of DFO, Spencer and Todd also appreciate and enjoy working alongside their fellow Commissionaires. They explain that their co-workers – most of whom also served with the military – are part of what makes the job enjoyable.
Spencer and Todd, we thank you for your continued display of care as you ensure our building is secure. Congratulations on your recognition in this campaign!
