Beyond Service: Jim Merritt (Edmonton)

Jim Merritt followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfathers when he enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1979. His 34-year career took him down many routes, starting as an air frame technician, then switching gears to become a cook. He retired in 2013 as a Chief Warrant Officer.

Two years after leaving the CAF, Jim joined Commissionaires and is now the Mobile Patrol Supervisor for our Northern Alberta Division.

Jim notes that the federation is unlike many civilian organizations because as it’s led by individuals with the skillsets and morals one develops within the military.  He values the familiar atmosphere and camaraderie he cherished within the CAF, noting that whether you’re looking for a new career, or just need a source of employment while you get yourself settled back into civilian life, Commissionaires is an excellent option.

Thank you for your service, Jim.
