CNS Becomes First Canadian Company to Achieve Coveted Certification

Commissionaires Nova Scotia (CNS) strives to deliver services that meet the highest global standards. Our hard work was recognized earlier this year when CNS became the first company in Canada to earn a coveted security operations management certification, known as ISO 18788:2015.

This certification, awarded by the authoritative International Organization for Standardization (ISO), means that security operations delivered by CNS are managed to world-class standards. It guarantees our clients and business partners that we consistently provide efficient and high-quality service.

The process to achieve certification was intense, requiring the introduction of a formal Enterprise Risk Management system and the development of a work instructions manual. The final audit was conducted over three sessions, separated by several months, each filling a full week.

“Front-line supervisors played a very important role in our achievement of this certification. I am proud of how well they addressed questions posed by our certification auditor and served as ambassadors of the company,” said Geoff Hamilton, CEO of Commissionaires Nova Scotia.

“The achievement of ISO 18788 certification places CNS in an exclusive league of global companies known for their commitment to excellent service and high ethical standards. We believe being part of this group reflects the sort of organization we are and the clients we serve.”

CNS now wears the ISO 18788 certification as a badge of honour, proudly showcasing it on all employee business cards and across its website and social media channels. In addition to ISO 18788, CNS also holds certification in environment management (ISO 14001) and quality management (ISO 9001).
