Terry Eisenmenger, a Northern Alberta Division commissionaire and Peace Officer, received the prestigious Edmonton Police Service Dempsey Award on December 11, 2017. This award is presented to sworn, civilian and contract employees who have gone beyond their regular duties to make EPS a more effective force. Terry works in the EPS Southeast Division cell block.
"Terence treats each individual, employee, citizen and prisoner with the same decency and respect, and is continuously creating innovative tricks to improve the working conditions for our members." said CWO Floyd Murrin, the Detention Management Unit Detachment Commander. "He does not sit idle and he enjoys the opportunity to assist their members. He searches each cell, phone room, and search room before and after each prisoner enters and exits the room, and will place a yellow sticky note on the cell doors with the name of the accused, as a way to help the Watch Commander."
Even when Terry was advised of his win, he backed out of the spotlight and placed it on the EPS members, “I take selfish pride in working with EPS members who inspire me daily by their professionalism and dedication to duty.”
Terry is dedicated to improving the lives of everyone in Southeast Division, and his contributions to its members and prisoners are inspiring. He represents our organization beyond expectation.
