Summer time is a season of celebration, commemoration and brushing up on your golf swing.
Charitable organizations often host golf tournaments to raise funds and offer their supporters a fun-filled day on the green. Golfers of all ages and (ahem) skill levels show up and most enjoy a few laughs.
Commissionaires New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island (NBPEI) is the lead division and has coordinated the participation of CNO, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland Divisions. Commissionaires has returned as the major sponsor of the Second Annual Atlantic Canada Soldier On Golf Tournament – Thursday August 3, 2017 in Dieppe, New Brunswick at the Fox Creek Golf Club.
Jake Bell, who serves on our Board of Governors, told us “Sponsoring and participating in events through Soldier On makes us a part of something so much bigger. We are proud to be involved with this tournament which will not only benefit our wounded soldiers and RCMP officers through the Soldier On program, but will also raise awareness of their sacrifice on behalf of all Canadians.”
Soldier On is a Canadian Armed Forces program that supports currently serving members and veterans in overcoming their physical and mental health injury through physical activity and sport. Since its 2006 inception, over 2,200 members of the Canadian Armed Forces have utilized their services in one form or another, primarily as a means to be re-introduced to an active lifestyle after injury.
All proceeds from the Soldier On Golf Tournament go directly toward the Fund.
If you’ll be on hand for the tournament, look for Commissionaires NBPEI CEO Pieter Kramers, Director of Business Operations, Dwight Maxan, and the National Office public affairs team, Mark Blevis and me, Jordan Ferguson.
