The Commissionaires National Office (CNO), Ottawa, ON, recently held a reception to kick off the Centennial of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. This year marks a century of service to Canada and providing meaningful employment opportunities to veterans. The event celebrated the Corps’ legacy of maintaining public safety, supporting veterans, and its tradition of giving back.
A highlight of the event was when Commissionaires National Board Chair Gord Winkel and Chief of Staff Harry Harsch presented a $10,000 cheque to Wounded Warriors Canada’s CEO Scott Maxwell and Director of Health Services Philip Ralph. Wounded Warriors provides specialized mental health support for military personnel, veterans, first responders, and their families. Their programs are designed to address the issues that trauma-exposed professionals face while on the job and in the aftermath their experiences.

“Partnerships like these make our life-changing mental health programs possible, ensuring we can assist in providing the right care at the right time for Canada’s trauma-exposed Veterans, First Responders and their families.” said Scott Maxwell, CEO of Wounded Warriors Canada.

The reception gathered employees, friends, and stakeholders to reflect on the past, discuss current achievements, and look ahead to the Corps’ future. Visit Commissionaires’ website for updates on upcoming key initiatives that will help mark this milestone.
As the event wrapped up, attendees looked ahead with anticipation of the year to come. The Centennial year is set to be one of continued service and celebration. A big thank you to everyone who joined Commissionaires to mark the beginning of this momentous occasion.
