Commissionaires National Bursary Program Open to Applicants

Nationwide Opportunity: Supporting the Education of Tomorrow’s Leaders

Commissionaires is now accepting applications for its 2024 National Bursary Program, which is open from April 15th, 2024, through to July 7th, 2024. The annual program awards ten $2,500 bursaries to post-secondary students in Canada, presented to their schools in the summer prior to the commencement of their 2024/2025 academic year.

“Commissionaires is proud to support our people and their families,” said Commissionaires Chief of Staff, retired naval captain Harry Harsch. “This program recognizes the potential in our employees by encouraging personal and professional growth through education.”

To be deemed eligible, the applicant must:

  • be employed full or part-time as a commissionaire (having completed a minimum of six months of work and be serving at the time of the application) or be an immediate family member of a qualifying commissionaire (spouse, child, step-child, grandchild or step-grandchild);
  • have been accepted into a Canadian, government recognized, post-secondary institution (universities, colleges, and vocational schools where high school completion is the normal entrance prerequisite);
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
  • not be a previous recipient of the Commissionaires National Bursary Program.

“I am thrilled that we are now in our third year of the program,” said Commissionaires National Honours and Awards Committee Chair Dave Madeira. “We hope that our contribution can help support students’ educational goals.”

This initiative is made possible with contributions from our partners, The Bank of Montreal, The Personal, and Heroes Vacation Club.
