Commissionaires New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island Division appointments new Board Chair

Brigadier General (Ret’d) Eric W.D. Goodwin CD will become the first Islander in the 72-year history of Commissionaires New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island Division to be appointed Chair of its Board of Governors. The appointment will take place during the Division’s Annual General Meeting taking place in Charlottetown, P.E.I. on June 8, 2018.

“As a retired member of our Canadian Armed Forces, I have lived a life of service. Accepting this important volunteer position allows me to continue the privilege of service,” Goodwin said. “The Board and I send our sincere thanks to my predecessor, John Henderson, for his valuable contribution and commitment. I look forward to serving this organization and advancing the work we do, providing meaningful employment for our Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP veterans across the region.”

Brig.-Gen. Goodwin retired from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in November 2001. He held several leadership appointments during his 32-year military career, including Deputy Commander of Land Force Atlantic. Since leaving the CAF, he has had a successful public service career, culminating in his role as Chief Firearms Officer for P.E.I.

Brig.-Gen. (Ret’d) Goodwin joined the Division in 2011. He has served as a Governor for seven years, and as Chairman of the Executive Committee for the last two years.

All members of the Commissionaires N.B. & P.E.I. Division Board are volunteers.
