Commissionaires Nova Scotia Awarded Halifax Port Authority Contract – January 2018

Commissionaires Nova Scotia (CNS) has been selected by the Halifax Port Authority (HPA) to provide security-related services including surveillance monitoring, patrolling, and cruise ship access control at the Port of Halifax.

CNS has been HPA’s security partner for 16 years, and after a Request for Proposals process, has been awarded a new one-year contract effective January 1, 2018, with an option to renew for two additional years. CNS employs approximately 30 full-time staff and an additional 50 seasonal staff during cruise ship season which occupies six months of the year.

“We are very pleased to be selected once again as HPA’s security partner,” said Bruce Belliveau, CEO, CNS. “This is an important contract for us, and HPA’s decision underscores the value, professionalism, and high level of customer service CNS provides.”

“Commissionaires are integral to keeping thousands of tourists and visitors to the Port of Halifax safe and secure each year,” says Catherine McGrail, Vice President Operations, Interim, Halifax Port Authority. “We’re pleased to continue our relationship with Commissionaires and appreciate their marine security expertise and ability to provide exceptional service to our port community.”
