Commissionaires Ottawa, whose service territory extends throughout all of Northern Ontario, has been selected by the City of Timmins to be the sole security provider for the Victor M. Power Airport, Timmins, Ontario.
The three-year contract began on March 1, 2014. Commissionaires Ottawa will deploy security personnel to provide area monitoring, access control to restricted areas, parking and vehicle control, non-core police services (by-law enforcement), and CCTV (Closed Circuit TV) monitoring.
“Commissionaires have been a reliable security presence in airports across Canada for several decades,” said Cheryl Fifer, Director of Business Operations at Commissionaires Ottawa. “This contract further expands our growing national footprint in the airport security industry and strengthens our reputation as a trusted, experienced security services provider.”
Commissionaires divisions across Canada provide a diverse range of services at more than 30 airports in nearly every province. Other services currently being provided to airport clients include dispatch, identification services, airside security, airfield vehicle patrols (to monitor wildlife, pick up foreign object debris and enforce speeds and safety requirements on runway corridors), security escort services during construction and expansion projects, luggage conveyor belt maintenance, administration and customer service.
