Commissionaires Ranked Among Canada’s Best Employers by Forbes

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Corps of Commissionaires has made the Forbes List of “Canada’s Best Employers.”

As Canada’s only not-for-profit security provider and the largest private sector employer of veterans, Commissionaires stands out as the sole security provider on this year’s list.

“We offer unique and meaningful career opportunities to people from all walks of life,” said Harry Harsch, Commissionaires National Chief of Staff. “In addition to our mandate of employing veterans and their families, commissionaires are students, retirees, new Canadians, and many others who wish to contribute to the security and well-being of Canadians.”

With one of the highest employee retention rates in the security industry, Commissionaires cultivates a workforce marked by loyalty and satisfaction.

“Our greatest asset lies within our people,” said Gord Winkel, Commissionaires National Board Chair. “This recognition underscores the profound connection our employees have with the organization and reflects our efforts nationwide to cultivate a stable and rewarding work environment for over 21,000 commissionaires.”

The competitive ranking is the result of an independent survey. Forbes partnered with online statistics provider Statista to survey more than 40,000 people working for Canadian companies and institutions. Respondents were asked to rate their employer based on criteria that included wage, gender pay-equity, work flexibility, opportunities for promotion and on-the-job training. Responses were tallied to provide each company with a score, and the 300 organizations with the highest scores made the final list.
