Ottawa, ON (June 7, 2017) – Commissionaires, Canada’s largest private sector employer of veterans, will be providing security for Invictus Games Toronto 2017 presented by Jaguar Land Rover taking place in Toronto from September 23 to 30, 2017.
“The Invictus Games present a phenomenal opportunity to celebrate those who have served their countries and the families that support them,” said Vice-Admiral (Ret’d) Dusty Miller, Chair of the Commissionaires’ National Board of Directors. “The world will get to see veterans demonstrate their strength and spirit which is the hallmark of their personal journeys to recovery. It is truly an honour to be associated with such an important event.”
Over 120 fully licensed and trained uniformed staff and supervisors will be deployed at nine major venues across the GTA including Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto Island Park and the Pan Am Sports Centre. Commissionaires will provide 24-hour comprehensive security coverage including customer service, access control, asset protection and mobile support.

The Invictus Games use the power of adaptive sport to help wounded warriors on their journey to recovery. Established by Prince Harry, the inaugural Invictus Games took place in London in September 2014; the second, and equally successful, Games took place in Orlando in May 2016. The Invictus Games Toronto 2017 Organizing Committee (IG2017) is tasked with planning and executing a Games that will feature 550 competitors, from 17 nations participating in 12 adaptive sports including, for the first time, golf.
