Forbes Recognizes Commissionaires as a Top Employer in Canada for 2025

Ottawa, Ontario – Once again, Commissionaires has made the Forbes list of Canada’s Best Employers. The company stands out as the only security provider on the prestigious list.

Commissionaires was initially founded in 1925 to provide work for veterans returning home from the First World War. To meet the rising demand for security, Commissionaires expanded its hiring practices in the 1990s to include non-veterans. This has helped fulfill the company’s social mandate of providing meaningful employment that meets the needs of veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, their families and others who wish to contribute to the security and well-being of Canadians.

As a 100% Canadian company with some 22,000 employees in 15 Divisions from all walks of life, Commissionaires is proud to provide security services from coast to coast to coast.

“We’re honoured to be included on the list, particularly as we celebrate our Centennial year,” said Gord Winkel, Commissionaires National Board Chair. “Our people have been the foundation for our success over the last 100 years. This recognition not only reflects the relationship our employees have with the organization, but the commitment we’ve had since the beginning to provide meaningful employment opportunities to Canadians.”

Commissionaires thanks those who helped rank the organization as a top employer in Canada! Apply to one of their many job openings across Canada today.

ABOUT THE LIST
To create the list, Forbes partnered with research-based firm Statista to survey over 40,000 Canadians who worked for companies employing at least 500 individuals in Canada. Survey respondents were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and to rate it based on a range of criteria, including salary, work flexibility, training programs and opportunities to advance. Each employer was given a score based on the responses, and the top 300 organizations made the 2025 list.
