Greg Noakes’ quick-thinking saved a life

Our commissionaires are known for being committed, passionate and hard-working individuals. They stand out from the pack due to their desire to be a part of something more significant than that as individuals. They care about the communities they live and work in.

Recently, the quick-thinking of Greg Noakes emphasized the values that define Commissionaires.

On March 16, 2017, while performing his regular duties as a Cambridge bylaw enforcement officer, Greg came across the scene of a vehicle roll-over accident. After blocking the accident vehicle from oncoming traffic, he discovered that the driver of the vehicle was unconscious and in need of immediate assistance.

After calling for EMS support, Greg entered the unstable vehicle through the passenger-side window (which was facing the sky). To gain access to the driver, Greg had to climb over the SUV which required quick-thinking, initiative and courage. He remained with the driver during her recovery and extraction by EMS support, providing valuable care and comfort to the driver in a high-stress situation.

“If we weren’t out in the community when we were, we could’ve missed it entirely,” said Greg. “I’m just glad I was in the right place at the right time.”

Greg displayed the highest standard of professionalism and caring as an employee of Commissionaires Hamilton. For that, we are forever grateful.

“I’m just thankful for the first-aid training that I received through the Commissionaires,” said Greg. “I was able to make an informed decision and change the outcome of the situation.”

Thank you, Greg. Your initiative—and caring—are among the many reasons you are a valued member of our team and a sterling example of the values that define Commissionaires.
