The head honcho of the commissionaires is leaving us, to be supervisor at the Charlottetown airport, and he leaves behind a commendation for his whole team.
Don Rodd, who acted as supervisor at the Charlottetown government buildings as a new security system was installed over the past two years, has accepted a new position.
Just last month, his whole detail was recognized with a commendation from the Commandant for the good work they do keeping government staff safe and the buildings running smoothly.
“We have a great group here,” he said.
Rodd will miss the more than 700 civil servants he has got to know.
“We can’t go down any hall now that I’m not saying hello to someone, that’s what I will miss,” he said.
Staff and visitors bought in quickly to the changes – which saw security doors and pass cards for admission to all four buildings, Rodd said.
“The transition was relatively easy, we pulled it all off.”
Eugene MacKay will replace Rodd as Commissionaire Supervisor.
