Nova Scotia’s not-for-profit security provider is now accepting applications for its next Chief Executive officer
Commissionaires Nova Scotia (CNS), the province’s premier security provider, is recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The not-for-profit with a social mandate to offer meaningful employment to military and police veterans, as well as anyone who’s passionate about public safety, is seeking a new leader to drive forward its strategic plan.
The opportunity comes as current CEO Geoff Hamilton prepares to move to Toronto to lead another division of the Commissionaires federation.
“I would like to formally thank Geoff for his leadership and many achievements,” said CNS Board Chair, Deputy Commissioner (ret’d) Steve Graham. “During his tenure, CNS rolled out employee medical benefits, responded to the pandemic, carried out a digital transformation, and notably increased revenue.”
“Commissionaires Nova Scotia is well positioned to welcome a new leader who can build on this success and put their own stamp on the organization.”
Reporting to the Board, the CNS CEO is a champion for growth who oversees the company’s overall management. They are responsible for strategy and operational performance, finance and risk management, governance, culture and talent, and stakeholder relations. The CEO collaborates with senior management to lead change, expand business lines, and bring forward innovative practices for the benefit of 1,300 employees at nearly 300 worksites.
CNS is working with talent management firm Royer Thompson to secure its next CEO. Those interested in the opportunity can find further information and apply here.
“It has been a great privilege to serve with Commissionaires Nova Scotia over the past nearly four years. I have been fortunate to lead the organization through a time of transformation and to work with a truly exceptional team,” said outgoing CEO Geoff Hamilton.
“I look forward to working with my successor in Nova Scotia as a colleague within our national federation to continue to advance Commissionaires’ important social mandate.”
