• Monday to Friday, may be required on weekends or holidays

RATE OF PAY: $27.27 per hour

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Occasional exposure to temperature variations when working on the warehouse floor or outdoors and going to other buildings may be exposure to inclement weather.
• Occasional exposure to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes and hazardous material and proper personal protective equipment (PPE) shall be used.
• Standing, walking, lifting and carrying lightweight to medium-weight items up to 50 pounds without the use of mechanical apparatus.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Cargo Commissionaire role is to provide security and documentation related tasks within Cargo / Shipping and Receiving section.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• must be able to maintain Commissionaires and client confidentiality,
• must be able to utilize any proprietary programs in use by/for the designated site/client,
• must be physically able to conduct vehicle or foot patrols at site buildings and locations,
• must be able to work independently or as part of a team,
• should possess excellent computer skills, including experience with specialized secure networks and all Microsoft products i.e., Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, and should possess experience with online scheduling apps.
• must have strong time management and task completion skills
• must have high attention to detail and accuracy
• must adhere to all policies, regulations, and SOPs
• must have Initiative and problem-solving abilities in challenging situations
• must have clear and professional communication within the Chain of Command

• must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance within 120 days of being hired.

REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Level II – Secret (requires 10 years minimum Canadian residency)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• represent the Commissionaires and the client professionally at all times including personal conduct, dress, and appearance,
• read, remain current with, and follow all Commissionaires policies, Terms & Conditions of Employment
• read, remain current with, maintain, and follow all client & site SOPs/post instructions,
• Ensuring all areas (DC Cage, Attractive Cage, Fridge Freezer) have been accounted for on a daily basis, especially before outgoing flights are finalized.
• Performing building security checks and building lock-up duties as required. Including inspection of Attractive Cage (verifying contents of the cage to list on the computer), conducting walk arounds of the warehouse to ensure general safety and security, and unlocking exterior doors at beginning and locking exterior doors at end of shift.
• Confirming Ammo Cage registry is up to date.
• Ensuring procedures are followed IAW 2 Air Mov Sqn SOP Chapter 13 –Attractive Cage, including bonded freight, register upkeep, and temperature-controlled items.
• Following policies pertaining to receiving bond material, including CBSA, CFIA and Dangerous Goods regulations.
• Performing an inspection of shipments retuning to Canada to include correct packaging, labelling, and documentation including Customs and Dangerous goods as required, via road or air.
• Employing proper offloading and security, as required, for all shipments.
• Receiving cargo from carriers or other sections, IAW current policies, regulations, and SOPs.
• Liaising with freight carriers as required.
• Drafting messages / faxes / e-mails as required, for all acknowledge priorities, outsize, or secure shipments.
• Liaising with CBSA WRT the processing, inspection and handling of all goods returning to Canada; and
• Performing other duties as assigned by IC Cargo Ops.
• record, advise/report on any unusual site activity to the appropriate supervisor/client including any actions/remedies and/or official reporting undertaken, as required,
• generate appropriate security and incident reports, as required,
• maintain a dialogue with the Site/District Supervisor and the client at all times, and
• perform any other required security related duties, as detailed by the Site Supervisor/District Manager and/or as reasonably requested by the client.

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for consideration for this position, you must have the following qualifications:
Secret Clearence (requires 10 years minimum Canadian residency)
• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid Emergency CPR First Aid with AED
• Driver’s License
• Driver’s Abstract
• Clean CPIC and Background Check

Proof of Qualifications will be required.

The training to obtain the following certifications will be provided to the successful candidate

• 404s, and
• Forklift Certification
