THE ROLE

Commissionaires’ NL provides security services and chauffeur duties to Government House. The role is to chauffeur Their Honours to official functions and pay close attention to Their personal safety and security when engaged in public duties.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Handle mail and courier packages for Their Honours and Executive Office.
  • Maintain two Government Vehicles. Keeping them clean and in good working order. Keep up to date records of all Maintenace performed on vehicles.
  • Once a week wash and clean two Government House Vehicles
  • Follow Itinerary for Official Functions, an ADC will accompany you on all official functions.
  • Assist Residence Manager when required for household functions.
  • Maybe required to assist visitors or callers to Government House.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be aged 19 or older
  • Be professional, reliable and recognize the proper chain of command
  • Submit a comprehensive resume with your application
  • Be required to complete First Aid at the Emergency Level (1 Day) 
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English 
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License
  • Have a clear criminal record check 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

The selected candidate will be professional and detail driven individual with a strong work ethic and “can do” attitude. Both physical and mental fitness is required.

Key qualifications and skills to be successful include but are not limited to:

  • Mental alertness with ability to:
    • React calmly, quickly, and appropriately in any crisis 
    • Communicate observed characteristics/behaviours 
    • Demonstrate problem-solving and sound judgement
  • Superior attention to detail with very good verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
