You will see us at municipal offices in Weyburn, the Polytechnique campus in Moose Jaw, patrolling the streets in Melville or at the front desk of our Legislature in the heart of Regina.

About the Current Position:

Commissionaires South Saskatchewan is looking for dedicated individuals to work as a full-time Parking Patrol Officer at the City of Regina Parking Enforcement. They are responsible to patrol assigned areas and respond to parking enforcement complaints that are received throughout the City of Regina.

Mobile Patrol Officers are required for every shift, which includes after hours and special enforcement events such as football games and street sweeping.

As a Parking Patrol Officer, they must have extensive knowledge of the Traffic Bylaw and a number of procedures as they enforce bylaw regulations. It is imperative they have strong interpersonal skills.

Mobile Patrol Officers must have proven skills and abilities such as:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be even-tempered, professional, and able to diffuse tense situations.
  • Knowledge, understanding and intent of the Traffic Bylaw.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Enforcement procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of procedures set out by the Corps of Commissionaires.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork by both Parking Services and the Corps.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and clean drivers abstract for over 5 years.
  • Must be an experienced driver and have knowledge and be able to navigate city streets.
  • Must successfully complete a clean Criminal Record Check and reference background check.
  • Must be able to work in Saskatchewan at least 40 hours a week.
  • Able to work well under pressure and provide excellent customer service.
  • Understanding knowledge of the City of Regina bylaws seen as an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Be even-tempered, professional, and able to diffuse tense situations.
  • 3-5 years experience dealing with the public.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
  • Attention to detail and professional approach in all areas of work and appearance.
  • Dedicated and reliable and willing to work extra shifts if required.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with accuracy.
  • Must be available to work statutory holidays and weekends.
  • Knowledge, understanding and intent of the Traffic Bylaw and enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork by both Parking Services and the Corps.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to shift but a vehicle and all appropriate communication assets will be assigned to the employee to use during their shift.
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR, Use of Force, Dealing with Difficult People training required or to be completed within one month of hiring.
  • Ministry of Corrections and Policing forty (40) hour Private Investigators and Security Guard course and is seen as an asset.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to work outside in all weather conditions on days and evening shifts.
  • The employee may frequently be required to sit and use hands to manipulate equipment including a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • The employee is required to stand and walk for long periods of time and must have the ability to climb flights of stairs.
  • The employee must be able to be mobile and operate a motor vehicle for long periods of time.
