The successful candidate must demonstrate either previous experience in the following aspects of the Terms of Reference, or through previous experience an aptitude for the following Terms of Reference:

1. The Director of Operations (DOps) is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization’s operations and effectiveness by ensuring standards are identified and maintained in the performance of designated tasks of Commissionaires in the field. The Director of Operations is also responsible for development and review of client RFPs and any Business Development. All of those objectives are met by:

a) Directly managing the Operations team and ensuring their ongoing professional development including Annual PARs

b) Ensuring all aspects of contract administration are maintained

c) Developing and maintaining a professional client network throughout the Commissionaires Hamilton Area of Responsibility

d) Identifying and pursuing suitable business opportunities

e) Producing formal Response for Proposal to suitable opportunities

f) Representing the Division and National Federation through the attendance at Trade Shows, participating in National Working Groups, and attending such Meetings, locally and outside the region on an annual basis

g) Negotiating and renewing existing contracts, ensuring the fiscal health of the organization

h) Ensuring the conduct of operations is compliant with all applicable legislation

i) Ensuring all relevant site documents are current and compliant (Post Orders, etc.)

j) Maintaining regular contact with clients

k) Providing timely response to site related issues

l) Coordinating with HR and Operations team to ensure all Sites are adequately manned

m) Ensuring Commissionaires are suitably trained at assigned posts

n) Conducting random and scheduled site visits

o) Ensuring an annual inspection of each site is completed and documented;

p) Establishing and monitoring appropriate Cost Control over Commissionaires operations;

q) Acting as interim CEO during the planned or unplanned absence of the CEO; and

r) Responding to other direction from the CEO.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate must demonstrate initiative, the ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written format, and the ability to adapt to sudden operation changes.
