RESPONSIBLE TO: Human Resources Coordinator

HOURS OF WORK: 

  • Full-Time 
  • Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600
  • Weekdays and occasional weekends for Job fairs.

TRAVEL: Some travel within the Region to attend Job Fairs.

RATE OF PAY:  $22.20 per hour (35-hour work week)

JOB SUMMARY:     As a member of the Human Resources Department, the Human Resources Clerk provides support to the Human Resources department by maintaining and developing the organization’s recruitment strategy and employee life cycle, while supporting the Company with hiring, onboarding, recruitment and retention processes, internal job selection.

This position is not conducive to working from home or away from the office for long periods of time.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection processes or relevant experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of ESA requirements
  • Office and computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of job boards

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a reliability security clearance within 90 days of being hired.
  • Must possess superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
  • must have excellent team building skills.
  • must have strong computer skills/experience.
  • Knowledge of current and related HR legislation with ability to interpret and implement Company Policies and Procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • G license.
  • Clean Drivers abstract
  • Able to obtain a reliability clearance.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete and provide a current and satisfactory CPIC preceding start date.
  • Would be considered an asset: post-secondary diploma/degree/certificate in Human Resources or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:         

Reliability  (requires 5 years minimum Canadian residency)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Answer general inquiries from applicants, districts and employees regarding HR and Operations functions, company policies, enrollment, training, and job postings.
  2. Accept, vet, and maintain employment applications and resumes from all recruitment sources while maintaining a dialogue of viable applicants with the relevant Manager.
  3. Assign Corps #, create initial Apogee and CHRIS records, and ensure digital copies of all personal documents are uploaded to CHRIS and the digital personnel file prior to the first pay period. Additionally, create a physical personnel file backup during enrollment. Ensure that company Terms & Conditions, Employment Standards Act, and Employment Equity information are properly collected, entered into CHRIS, and added to the personnel file at enrollment.
  4. Maintain accurate and complete recruiting database, files, records, and update as necessary. Work with discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information.
  5. Manage E-learning administration including CSOC course loading, issuing joining instructions, monitoring student progress, troubleshooting online issues, and pre-registration with SERCO.
  6. Publish job postings to all recruiting platforms and distribute internal job postings to the appropriate District Manager/Supervisor, Site Supervisors and Collective Bargaining Unit representatives as required.
  7. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all recruiting platforms, primarily the Commissionaires National website, and the Indeed website.
  8. Provide login assistance for website & CHRIS access to all new and existing employees.
  9. Attend and organize Job fairs and recruiting events.
  10. Perform any additional duties as they arise or are assigned by the Human Resources Coordinator or Directors.
