THE ROLE:
Commissionaires NL is seeking a Human Resources Manager. This position is accountable for planning, organizing, controlling and directing the human resources programs for Commissionaires NL, including managing, overseeing and directing a variety of human resources management programs and services; coordinating staff development; and performing other administrative functions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides overall leadership and direction related to the development of HR plans, priorities, strategies and overall direction for the Commissionaires NL and participating in the formulation and implementation of HR policies, including the provision of advice and consultation with the Chief Operations Officer.
- Conducts a regular review of the existing HR programs to assess quality and performance and establishes mechanisms to provide relevant data to properly manage the systems and to deal with challenges as they arise.
- Contributes to the goals and objectives of Commissionaires NL by providing senior professional advice, specialized knowledge and leadership in developing and evaluating HR programs, policies, initiatives, activities and strategies.
- Develops and ensures a quality of work environment by providing professional development opportunities as appropriate ensuring employees possess the necessary skills and aptitudes necessary to achieve Commissionaires NL’s goals and objectives. Plans, organizes and provides for a variety of continuing education opportunities for Commissionaires, including e-learning, conferences, workshops, lectures, annual meetings and conventions and newsletter articles.
- Provides overall HR management, development, delivery and evaluation of HR programs, conferences and other learning development activities of the Commissionaires NL, including the assessment of essential training requirements of site managers and staff; coordinates, designs, delivers, facilitates and provides administrative and promotional services for customized training seminars.
- Ensures the quality and relevance of the Commissionaire NL Training Program by ongoing research and development, and by consultation with individual and organizational clients and similar organizational training units in other jurisdictions and the private sector.
- Provides overall management and coordination of a variety of human resources services and activities, including recruitment and selection, employee relations, human resources management services, performance appraisal, and honours ad awards.
- Provides human resources advisory and consultative services to management and staff, including providing support in human resources planning and the development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures.
- Assists in the development of contract proposals/RFPs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operations Officer.
WHO WE’RE SEEKING
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Strong operational, human resources and staff development and training skills
- Strong oral and written communications
- Strong presentation and organizational skills
- Effective in a deadline driven, team environment
- Sound judgement for problem solving
- Ability to deal with stakeholders in an effective, respectful and informative manner.
- Be professional, reliable and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Be able to obtain a clear police conduct
- Driver’s license
