RATE OF PAY: $27.27 per hour

JOB SUMMARY:

To inspect, test and maintain fire related systems, responsible to the Commissionaire Site Supervisor/District Manager for the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of inspection tasks at the Designated site location.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills,
• must be able to communicate in a calm and confident manner regardless of circumstances,
• must be able to interact with people in a concise and professional manner,
• must be able to maintain Commissionaires and client confidentiality,
• must be able to utilize any proprietary programs in use by/for the designated site/client,
• must be physically able to conduct vehicle or fire system inspections at site buildings and locations,
• must be able to work independently or as part of a team,
• Must possess excellent computer skills, including experience with specialized secure networks and all Microsoft products i.e., Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook,

• QL-5 Qualifications through Canadian Forces Fire Academy or Civilian Equivalent
• Valid Emergency CPR First Aid with AED
• Ontario Driver’s License – G

REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:

Reliability (requires 5 years minimum Canadian residency)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must represent the Commissionaires and the client professionally at all times, including in personal conduct, dress, and appearance.
• Must read, remain current with, and follow all Commissionaires policies and Terms & Conditions of Employment.
• Must read, remain current with, maintain, and follow all client and site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and post instructions.
• Must be responsible for maintaining familiarity with all sites, security systems, and alarm systems (including but not limited to smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide systems), along with all procedures associated with those systems.
• Must be responsible for providing information to site personnel, site visitors, and the general public, as required.
• Must be responsible for routinely interacting with site personnel, contractors and their representatives, and the general public, as required.
• Must be responsible for maintaining a daily personal notebook.
• Must be responsible for testing the fire alarm system daily.
• Must be responsible for inspecting the sprinkler system weekly.
• Must be responsible for testing the sprinkler system monthly.
• Must be responsible for reporting any defects through the proper channels.
• Must be responsible for maintaining basic components of the alarm system.
• Must be responsible for inspecting vehicles used to perform daily duties.
• Must be responsible for recording and reporting any unusual site activity to the appropriate supervisor or client, including any actions taken, remedies applied, or official reporting undertaken, as required.
• Must be responsible for maintaining open communication with the Site Supervisor, District Supervisor, and the client at all times.
• Must be responsible for executing any other related duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor, District Manager, or as reasonably requested by the client.

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for consideration for this position, you must have the following qualifications:
• QL-5 Qualifications through Canadian Forces Fire Academy or Civilian Equivalent
• Ability to obtain reliability clearance
• Valid Emergency CPR First Aid with AED
• Ability to obtain a clean CPIC and Background Check
• Require 404’s to operate DND designated Vehicle or Rental.
• Ontario Driver’s License – G
• Require the ability to acquire a Secret Security Clearance to work in Federal Compounds (8 Wing Trenton, Mountain View, Point Petrie, Carrying Place, Belleville Armories and Peterborough Armories).
• Must have the ability to operate computer systems to implement and print inspection forms required for this position.
• Must have the ability to operate and communicate on Fire Departments frequency without difficulty.
