POSITION: Security Operations Center Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
HOURS OF WORK:
- Full-Time On Site; Indoor and Outdoor working conditions that may apply
- Weekdays and on call for some weekends
- Some travel within the Region and travel to District sites regularly
TRAVEL: Must be willing to travel to various sites within Kingston and surrounding area as needed.
RATE OF PAY: $23.00 to $24.00

JOB SUMMARY: To promote a positive, professional, and productive work environment through effective leadership and example. Ensure the effective and efficient operations of the SOC which includes Mobile Patrol, Alarm response, Call Ops and the management of the Division’s vehicle fleet. Direct oversight of all functions of the SOC. Ensure all administrative and operational tasks and duties are completed as per policy and procedure in a timely fashion.
This position requires regular presence in the office and is not suitable for remote or extended off-site work.

REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Level I – Reliability (requires 5 years minimum Canadian residency)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Must negotiate short-term contracts with clients, Director of Business Development and Director of Operations
• Must work with Human Resources in the interview process to select commissionaires and fill staffing requirements for all contracts in the district. Coordinating Interviews with Human Resources for potential new hires and internal applicants for positions as needed.
• Must ensure contractual requirements for staffing are met and communicate any shortfall in staffing to Operations Assistant and engage with the client as required.
• Must field calls from commissionaires, regional office staff, clients and public and provide information to District staff, Divisional staff, clients, and the public, as required.
• Must generate probationary and annual assessments for all guards who have completed necessary probation hours. Ensure annuals, passed and failed probations are forwarded to Operations. Must generate positive performance reports.
• Must assist guards with their security guard license renewals online to expedite the renewal process.
• Must be knowledgeable with scheduling software and perform scheduling duties and assist as the back up to the district scheduler in preparing schedules and timesheets ensure all available shifts have been covered as needed. Regularly review Sling to ensure the schedules are up to date and there is no unauthorized overtime and review all timesheets as they are sent into payroll.
• Must complete all day-to-day administration functions for the district, including generating and submitting WSCF’s, LOAs and other personnel admin is completed promptly.
• Must ensure first aid certificates and receipts for all guards in district are submitted for reimbursement as well as ensure security guard licenses are up to date.
• Must complete any reports required and requested by Director of Operations and forward any/all completed documents and information to respected department for processing.
• Must coordinate WSIB leaves with commissionaire and/or Site Supervisors and help in completion of WSIB reporting forms. Informing Health and Safety of any WSIB claims
• Must maintain all local copies of guard and client, records in secure filing systems.
• Must conduct progressive discipline such as verbal and written warnings and record any/all shift refusals and compliance issues.
• Must attend all scheduled virtual or in person meetings
• Must investigate all public and client complaints received regarding district employees.
• Routinely interact with subordinate staff, Directors, Divisional staff, District staff, clients and their representatives, and the public,
• Respond promptly to emergency situations including contacting and interacting with all forms of emergency services personnel,
• Control fleet maintenance including scheduling of maintenance, cleaning, the issuing and receiving of vehicle keys, as well as auditing vehicle records, and enforcing vehicle control procedures, all while ensuring a functional fleet for SOC operations.
• Be familiar with all operational procedures associated with SOC in general and the CCTV Control Centre,
• Must maintain all SOC instructions & SOPs and post orders.
• Interact with new clients including setting up site visits, gathering details and make suggestions for site security options, set up billing rates, prepare contracts,
• Prepare and email alarm reports and ATM forms to the appropriate clients daily, Prepare, review and email Incident reports as they occur, generate appropriate client and security reports, as required, Update billing checklist and amend clients billing daily, Prepare client billing reports monthly,
• Properly review and distribute directions to all SOC staff for site information passed from the District Manager for all long-term and short-term contracts/clients,
• Monitor missed calls and late calls daily,
• Track and update all completed patrols using Patrol by Shift tracking,
• Prepare & maintain training materials, schedule, and train all new Call Operators and Patrol Drivers employed as SOC staff to ensure the highest level of performance and consistency,
• Ensure the immediate and accurate passage of all information regarding changes or issues for Patrol Drivers and Call Operators, produce memos, reprimands, probationary reviews, and performance reports for all SOC personnel.
• Perform as a Patrol Driver, Alarm response guard or Call Operator, as required.
• Must share responsibility with the SOC Shift Co-Coordinator for on-call duties and any emergent after business hours calls and communicate which member is on call with employees.
• Must participate in any and all internal training and continuing education deemed necessary by the director of operations and/or delegate.
• Must perform other duties as assigned by Director of Operations, or delegate.

All security work is 24/7 up to 40 hours per week and overtime is possible.
