JOB SUMMARY:
As Canada’s defenceand dual-use industries increasingly adopt mandated compliance standards (like CPCSC and Controlled Goods regulations), this role will be central to enabling small and mid-sized firms — who lack internal infrastructure — to participate in government and defenceprograms. By combining the trusted presence of Commissionaires with 123 Cyber’s compliance and technical expertise, this position helps bridge the gap between security requirements and industry readiness.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement — or equivalent background offering reliability, discipline, integrity (consistent with Commissionaires’ usual hiring profile).
- Familiarity with, or willingness to rapidly learn, Canadian defence-sector compliance frameworks: CPCSC (self-assessment approach), Controlled Goods Program requirements, and secure information handling.
- Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and documentation — ability to manage logs, access records, security documentation, and compliance artifacts.
- Excellent integrity, discretion, and professionalism; ability to handle sensitive data and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills: able to coordinate with clients, developers (123 Cyber), site staff (Commissionaires), and third-party partners.
- Flexibility to travel to different Enclave locations, and adapt to a variety of facility types, security levels, and client contexts.
REQUIRED QUALFICATIONS
- Security clearance eligibility or previous clearance experience.
- Knowledge of cyber-security best practices, access control, physical security, and Controlled Goods handling processes.
- Understanding of defence contracting compliance frameworks (CPCSC, CGP, or analogous frameworks such as U.S. CMMC).
- Previous experience in consulting, compliance audits, or managed security services.
- Ability to learn and use compliance-management tools / platforms (e.g., for access control, evidence tracking, audit logging).
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Level II – Secret (requires 10 years minimum Canadian residency)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- represent the Commissionaires and the client professionally at all times including personal conduct, dress, and appearance,
- read, remain current with, and follow all Commissionaires policies, Terms & Conditions of Employment
- read, remain current with, maintain, and follow all client & site SOPs/post instructions,
- Serve as a consultant and operator within the 123 Enclave — manage secure-workspace operations for clients requiring CPCSC-level or Controlled Goods compliance.
- Oversee access control, visitor management, and secure handling procedures for Controlled Goods and sensitive information in Enclave facilities.
- Perform CPCSC readiness support: assist clients (or internal stakeholders) with self-assessment, documentation, evidence collection, and implementation of baseline security hygiene aligned with Level 1 requirements.
- Prepare, maintain, and audit security documentation and compliance artifacts (e.g., access logs, clearance records, Controlled Goods handling records, visitor logs, SOP compliance).
- Work with 123 Cyber to implement and manage compliance workflows, evidence tracking, and enclave-specific security protocols.
- Provide support for facility security clearance prerequisites (DOS/FSC), Controlled Goods registration and compliance practices (as per Controlled Goods Program — CGP).
- Act as point-of-contact for clients using the enclave: onboarding, orientation to secure procedures, compliance guidance, and liaison between clients, 123 Cyber, and Commissionaires.
- Support audits, internal reviews, or client compliance verification efforts related to secure workspace operations, CPCSC, CGP, or defence contract compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism consistent with Commissionaires standards and all regulatory requirements.
- Adhere to and enforce security policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable legislative/regulatory frameworks relevant to Controlled Goods and sensitive information handling.
