About the Current Position:

Commissionaires is seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Supervisor to oversee security operations at Interpro Pipe & Steel manufacturing facilities. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of security services, supervising security personnel, maintaining compliance with site-specific procedures, and supporting the client’s operational and security objectives.

The Security Supervisor serves as the primary on-site security leader and liaison between Commissionaires, Interpro Pipe & Steel management, and security personnel. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have lived in Canada for 5 years. This is for enhanced reliability security screening requirements.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong report-writing and investigative skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based security systems.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Complete a Criminal Record Check and reference background check.
  • Legally able to work in Saskatchewan.
  • Successful completion of the Ministry of Corrections and Policing forty (40) hour Private Investigators and Security Guard course**.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising contract security personnel.
  • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of access control systems, CCTV platforms, and electronic patrol systems.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Occupational Health & Safety training.
  • Incident Command System (ICS) or emergency management training.
  • Preference may be provided to applicants with military or policing background.

Work Schedule & Coverage Expectations

  • Standard 40-hour work week.
  • Flexible schedule required to support day, evening, overnight, and weekend operations.
  • Advance coordination and submission of weekly schedules.
  • Tracking and reporting of actual hours worked.
  • The Security Supervisor is expected to maintain operational visibility across all shifts.
  • In the event of staffing shortages, emergency absences, or unfilled shifts, the Supervisor may be required to provide direct security coverage to ensure uninterrupted protection of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Commissionaire security personnel while ensuring all security posts are properly staffed and operational requirements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with site security procedures, licensing requirements, training standards, uniform expectations, and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct inspections, shift briefings, performance reviews, coaching, and corrective actions to maintain professional service standards.
  • Oversee access control operations, including visitor management, contractor access, badge issuance, and perimeter security.
  • Monitor security patrols, electronic guard tour activities, CCTV systems, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Respond to and lead investigations of security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and workplace safety concerns.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities, evacuations, accountability procedures, and incident reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, logs, and documentation in accordance with Interpro and Commissionaires requirements.
  • Support compliance audits, policy implementation, and continuous improvement of site security procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Interpro Pipe & Steel management, Commissionaires leadership, and on-site security personnel.
  • Ensure effective communication, shift handovers, and escalation of significant security concerns.
  • Manage key and access card inventories, monitor high-value assets, and maintain asset control records.
  • Implement directives from the Director, Corporate Security, and support the achievement of site security objectives.

Physical Demands:

  • Employees may frequently be required to sit and use hands to manipulate office equipment including a computer keyboard and mouse.
  • Employees may be required to sit, walk, or stand for long periods of time.

** Successful interviewees that do not yet have this training and are considered for employment will be offered the opportunity to complete this training through the Commissionaires before they are assigned to a position.
