About the Current Position:

The Commissionaires South Saskatchewan Division is looking for a dedicated individual to work as a full-time Office Manager for its newly developed Swift Current satellite office. You would represent the organization in this part of the province, manage the office and be responsible for relationship development and contract opportunity development. In addition, you would supervise office staff and provide support for local security guard supervisors as well as all additional security guards at unsupervised sites. This includes scheduling, recruitment, retention, coaching and performance management. The position will also ensure that Commissionaires equipment and vehicles are maintained and kept in safe working order. In urgent situations and to ensure excellent customer service, you may be required to perform security work to bridge potential gaps in service, or when there are unanticipated leaves of absence until new hires can be put in place.

The position will report to the Executive Director of Business Development out of the Regina Headquarters Office.

Hours of work are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for a total of 40 hours per week. This position will sometimes require work outside those hours, as well as travel as required by the needs of the community and your direct supervisor.

The Office Manager, Swift Current must have proven skills and abilities such as:

  • Experience in management and leadership.
  • Experience with onboarding/offboarding, training, discipline processes, administrative forms and processes and performance management.
  • Experience with the hiring process and managing staff scheduling and gap assessments.
  • Advanced interpersonal, mentorship and diplomacy skills.
  • Be even-tempered, professional, and able to diffuse tense situations.
  • The ability to manage procedures and enforce policies set out by the Corps of Commissionaires.
  • The ability to complete required paperwork at an expert level expected by the Corps.
  • The ability to develop and maintain relationships with all matter of stakeholder, from elected officials and media to business owners and residents.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in supervision and/or management.
  • Proven, strong leadership, interpersonal and mentorship skills.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and clean drivers abstract for over 5 years.
  • Must successfully complete a clean Criminal Record Check.• Experience working closely with senior management, taking direction well and ready to assist with performance management of the team.
  • Attention to detail and professional approach in all areas of work and appearance.
  • Able to effectively communicate at an advanced level, both verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Dedicated and reliable.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and email.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with accuracy.
  • Knowledge, understanding of HR principles and have the ability to follow and enforce policy.
  • Previous management training seen as an asset. Candidate must pass Commissionaires Supervisory training within the first year after hire.
  • Must have a willingness to treat ALL people with respect, through understanding, regardless of their culture, gender, gender identity, race, sex and any other protected legislative designation.
  • Certification in the following MUST be completed on or before 90 days of employment start date including: Ministry of Corrections and Policing forty (40) hour Private Investigators and Security Guard course as well as Emergency First Aid certification, or will be provided by Commissionaires following hire.

It would be a plus if you had:

  • A certificate, diploma, degree in business related studies.
  • Knowledge of and established relationships in the Swift Current business community seen as an asset.
