Commissionaires Ottawa receives CFLC Award in recognition of support to the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve

Since 1994, the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC) has recognized deserving civilian employers and educators who have demonstrated exceptional support for Reservist employees. For the 2019 awards, Commissionaires Ottawa was selected from more than 100 nominees as one of the 10 recipients of a provincial award in recognition of our support of the mission of the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve. The Regional Council Ontario of the CFLC presented these provincial employer-support awards during a ceremony held at First Canadian Place in Toronto.

During his remarks, BGen Jocelyn Paul, Commander 4th Canadian Division, touched on the ever-increasing role of the Reserves in the Forces. Reservists come from all sorts of backgrounds—from young Canadians graduating in high school or entering universities or colleges, to civic-minded Canadians of all ages who have careers outside the Reserves in a wide range of civilian occupations.

He said, “Without the ongoing support of educational institutions, and employers such as Commissionaires Ottawa, it would be impossible for the Reserve to be such an integrated part of the Canadian Armed Forces that contributes to the success of its military operations at home and abroad.”
