CNS donation helps The Veteran Farm Project Society rebuild greenhouse

Commissionaires Nova Scotia’s Veterans’ Support Committee is donating $1000 to The Veterans Farm Project Society to help rebuild its greenhouse. The not-for-profit based in Windsor, NS, is dedicated to supporting veterans facing food insecurity and relies on its greenhouse to grow produce. The greenhouse was destroyed in a recent storm.

At Commissionaires, we are committed to supporting past and present military members. Our contribution to the Veteran Farm Project reflects this commitment.

The Veteran Farm Project was founded in 2018 by veteran Jessica Miller with the goal of supporting her fellow female veterans. The not-for-profit has since grown to help 25 families in the Annapolis Valley, including veterans and other community members.

Each year, the Commissionaires NS Veterans Support Committee provides funds to veteran organizations based out of Nova Scotia. This year’s funds were presented by committee chair Steve Graham.

Commissionaires’ support of the Veteran Farm Project follows a donation earlier this year to The Royal Canadian Legion – Nova Scotia/Nunavut Command.
