Lieutenant-Colonel Michael Voith was appointed the CEO of Commissionaires Kingston in May 2012 after more than 33 years of command and staff appointments in the Canadian Military Engineers of the Canadian Forces.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), a Master of Arts Defence Management and Policy, and also a Master of Defence Studies all from the Royal Military College of Canada. He is a graduate of both the Canadian Land Force Command and Staff College and the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College. Mike is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
During his career Mike served in Germany, Cyprus, the Former Yugoslavia, Haiti, Ethiopia and Eritrea, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and twenty-one months in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Highlights of his career include commanding 4 Engineer Support Regiment and deploying his unit to Africa. Other career highpoints include commanding the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) with deployments first to Sri Lanka and later to Pakistan to provide humanitarian disaster response after the tsunami and earth quake respectively in 2005. In 2010, Mike was promoted Acting Colonel and appointed the Chief Engineer of 10th (US) Mountain Division / Regional Command South in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
Lieutenant-Colonel Voith is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Cross from Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, the Sitara-i-Eisaar (Star of Sacrifice) from the President of Pakistan, and the US Bronze Star Medal for exceptional meritorious service as the Chief Engineer of 10th Mountain Division during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
