Controlled Goods Program

According to the Controlled Goods Program, “Fingerprinting is the preferred method of verifying criminal history.” Commissionaires, accredited by the RCMP, is the leader in digital fingerprinting.

Businesses registered for the Controlled Goods Program are required to have their Designated Official conduct a comprehensive security assessment for each officer, director, employee and domestic student who requires access to controlled goods. This assessment includes criminal record checks.

Security assessment services include:

  • Fingerprint and criminal background verification of designated official
  • Criminal record check of officers, directors and employees
  • Credit checks for financial risk
  • Employment and education history
  • Reference checks

Criminal record checks using name and date of birth are submitted through a direct connection to our police partner and are processed in 24-48 hours.
